MBBS Doctor Job Description
An MBBS Doctor is responsible for providing primary medical care, diagnosing illnesses, performing basic procedures, and ensuring patients receive appropriate treatment and follow-up care. They work in hospitals, clinics, emergency rooms, and community health centers.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct physical examinations and evaluate patient health.
Diagnose and treat common medical conditions (fever, infections, injuries, chronic diseases, etc.).
Prescribe medications and treatment plans.
Order and interpret diagnostic tests (X-rays, ECG, lab tests, ultrasounds).
Provide emergency care for acute conditions and stabilize patients.
Perform minor surgical procedures (suturing, wound care, incision & drainage).
Monitor patient progress and update medical records.
Refer patients to specialists when advanced care is required.
Offer preventive healthcare advice and lifestyle guidance.
Manage outpatient (OPD) and inpatient (IPD) cases.
Follow hospital protocols, safety guidelines, and ethical standards.
Collaborate with nurses, specialists, and other medical staff.
